Australia: ABS Labour Force Figures, released today, unemployment rate increased 0.3 points to 4.1% ↑ The participation rate increased to 66.7%. ↑ Monthly hours worked remained at 1,962 million hours. ↔
China: Bureau of Labor Statistics, released April 16, the unemployment rate decreased 0.1 points to 5.2% ↓
USA: Bureau of Labor Statistics, released May 3, the unemployment rate increased 0.1 points to 3.9% ↑
UK: Bureau of Labor Statistics, released May 14, the unemployment rate increased 0.1 points to 4.3% ↑
New Zealand: Statistics New Zealand, released April 30, the unemployment rate increased 0.3 points in the first quarter to 4.3% ↑
Germany: Statistics Germany, released April 30, the unemployment rate remained steady at 5.9% ↔
France: Insee France, released February 13, the unemployment rate remained steady in the fourth quarter at 7.5% ↔
Spain: Instituto Nacional de Estadistica, released April 26, unemployment rate increased 0.49 points in the first quarter to 12.29% ↑
Monthly Consumer Price Index Indicator: released April 24, the annual movement for the monthly CPI indicator excluding volatile items and holiday travel was 4.1% in March, up from the rise of 3.9% in February ↑
Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence: released May 14, ANZ-Roy Morgan Consumer Confidence was virtually unchanged at 80.2 this week. The index has now spent a record 67 straight weeks below the mark of 85 ↔

ANZ-Indeed Australian Job Ads released May 6, ANZ-Indeed Australian Job Ads rose 2.8% m/m in April after falling 1.0% m/m in March. In trend terms, the series was up 0.7% m/m. While ANZ-Indeed Job Ads has fallen 14.3% from its peak in November 2022, the series is still 36.5% higher than pre-pandemic levels ↑
Job Vacancy Rates: ABS Labour Force Figures, released March 28, total job vacancies for the February 2024 quarter were 363,800 a decrease of 6.1% from November 2023 ↓
